MEDIUM DUTY AeroElite
After a rough start in 2009 with the loss of the GM 5500 series chassis, the Medium Duty MiDeal contract has had 2+ years of success. Moving forward with the International 3200 series chassis and the Eldorado Steel Reinforced Composite Body, the AeroElite is available in 11+ floor plans, 3 wheelbases and capacities up to 33 passengers.
The current contract will be expiring in May of 2012.
There are many slots available still for production but orders must be received before May 12th, 2012 to be eligible.
Although MDOT is currently working with the Vehicle Equipment Advisory Team on the next ITB specifications, it may be a long time before the next contract is awarded, pilot models built and approved and procurement packets in place... so take advantage of the current contract while you can!

SMALL CUTAWAY AeroTech
Those of us that have looked at the order forms for the 2010-2012 Small Bus Cutaway contract are certain to recognize that this is a different process than we have seen in the past.
This contract was awarded to three(3) different bus builders and unlike past contracts, MDOT has stated that they will only reimburse agencies the amount of the cheapest bus.
Many fleets have recognized and expressed the EXTRA VALUE and long term lower operating costs inherent in the Composite Body Aero product line vs. metal cage buses. Furthermore, Hoekstra Transportation recognizes and thanks those of you that have ordered our products despite any extra local costs you face for doing so.
At first glance, it will appear that the Eldorado Nat’l AeroTech is more expensive than our competitors. However with careful option selection, the AeroTech can quickly turn the tables and become a lower cost selection.
Please, before you order from this contract, call to discuss the opportunities to lower or eliminate any local funds.
